Flat Weave Carpets
Flat weave carpets contain tightly compressed interlocking pile fibres resulting in a dense and durable carpet. Due to this the surface of a flat weave carpet contains no knots, hence the name ‘flat weave’.
The strength afforded to flat weave carpets from their structure provides an additional benefit of being resistant to pressure marks from furniture, and enables a high resistance towards dirt as it cannot reach in-between the fibres of the pile yarn.
Typically flat weave carpets are manufactured from wool, using a wide range of colours and styles.

Heather Carpets
Heather – or ‘tweed’ – carpets are made from yarns spun together containing differing colour fibres. The resulting speckled appearance gives the carpet a textured appearance which can help disguise dirt and vacuum marks. Heather carpets are available in several styles such as twist pile and loop pile.

Berber Fleck Carpets
This popular style builds on the principles of heather carpets by using chunks of varying shades of neutral colours to give a more random, natural look and feel. Most Berber carpet colours range from off-white to caramel, although may be rarely found in darker colours also.
Berber carpets are popular for being hard wearing and stain resistant to a certain extent (although for best results they will need to be stain treated), the level of resistance is dependant on the type of material from which it is made. Those manufactured from olefin fibres are the best.

Loop Pile Carpets
Loop pile carpets have been very popular since the style surfaced in the 1970s. Using a series of uncut loops, the sophisticated machinery is able to weave patterns at differing heights, enabling the creation of both plain and intricate designs.
Loop pile carpets are both long lasting and easy to clean, standing up well to professional cleaning, owing this both to the design and the materials used.
