A MODERN COUNTRY HOME

As I walk around my home with soft carpet underfoot in beautiful neutral tones inspired by nature, it's hard to believe how far we've come from the dark, dated rooms that we had when we moved into our new home in October 2020.

When we first viewed the house, it was hard to look beyond the dark furniture filing the rooms, heavy window dressings and dated colour scheme, but I had a vision for a modern country home and knew that this home was right for our family.

The carpets were original to the house, when it was built in 2000, and not only had they seen better days (being thread bare in parts) but downstairs they were orange and yellow!  The bedroom carpets were marginally better, but lacked the cosy and welcoming feel that I wanted.

Choosing new carpets can be a daunting task. With so many options to choose from and questions to ask yourself, I stood in our local carpet shop and didn't know where to begin. After bringing several samples home, none of them quite captured the relaxed, traditional style I was looking for.

As soon as I saw Brockway's Lingdale range, I knew it was perfect for our home. These beautiful, wool-rich carpets have so many benefits to them, including their longevity.  The only challenge now was to choose from one of the twelve heather coloured carpets.

With a palette inspired by the natural earth tones of Yorkshire limestone, Lingdale is a beautiful collection of contemporary designs with a flecked effect adding a subtle mix of style to these wool carpets.

Now, our home has been transformed, with skimming stone walls, handmade oak furniture and cosy wool carpets, creating my vision for a modern country home.

You are guaranteed to have a high quality looking and feeling carpet when you buy from Brockway carpets and I was so happy with them that I chose another of their styles for our stair runner.
